the curiousities of your omakase eden.

Our compilation of more commonly asked questions we’ve encountered to help you out before or after your you’ve gotten your bespoke floral eden with us at our Omakase series.

— our floral facts.

  • Why, it’s from our little eden of a backyard of course…is what we would like our mysterious answer to be.

But, the fun reality is that all of the flowers and foliage arriving in Singapore are imported from all around the world! To name a few, there’s the ones from places with our similar climate Malaysia, Hawaii, Vietnam, India, Thailand, China. Then there’s also those from countries that undergo the beautiful four seasons — Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, Holland, etc.

  • Omakase: “I leave it up to you.”
Just like how the sushi chef chooses the ingredients of the seasonal’s bests at the restaurant, but still takes into consideration allergies or sometimes, flavour profiles you hate…that’s what we strive to achieve too with our flowers.

So, to a certain extent, yes, you can choose.

You can choose what your must-haves and must-not-haves are! Please do share the loves and hates when it comes to flowers and foliage, if the intended recipient has any. We always put our best foot forth and try to make it happen as best we can when it comes to requested flowers.

What we shy away from is not having creative control over the combination of flowers to translate your vision into reality. Our working style focuses more on the colours, theme and overall message you’d like your Omakase eden to convey. Flowers are our creative medium to help you express that even better.

As we work with what is available seasonally, we would also need to have the flexibility in choosing the next best alternatives should the situation arise. Flower supplies and freights have become less predictable in this new climate and so, that means sometimes, the flowers we preordered just don’t arrive in time or even don’t arrive at all.

  • No, you should not.

Our Omakase series and wedding bridal flower may run on the same concept of us picking the seasonal bests for you but no, they are not the same.

Omakase everyday gift bouquets are not recommended as wedding flowers for a few reasons:
    — Omakase gift bouquets are crafted with the wrapped look in mind and the ‘prime’ angle of the flowers would be 1-dimensional as compared to a carefully curated bridal bouquet made to look good from all angles.
    — Wedding flowers are conditioned to last longer out of water for wedding ceremonial purposes. Having an Omakase eden in its place would be risky, given Singapore’s hot climate.

— ordering your Omakase.

  • If you have an idea in mind you want to explore, just drop us an enquiry and we would be more than happy to assist.

But, kindly note that we do not do replicates of other florists’ works out of respect for another’s craft and also for us to be able to express our creative freedom and style while flowering for your big day. Even if it’s a past work of ours, we will only be able to work within the same or a similar palette / theme.

With the seasonality of flowers, every bloom varies in tone, colour, shape and size. Hence, the outcome will still vary with the individuality of all blooms.

  • It is highly recommended to place your order at least 1 week in advance.

We minimally require 2 business days advanced notice for your order to be accepted. However, as we are a small team and have event projects ongoing throughout the year, we might have limited slots available at a short notice.

  • If you are enquiring less than the recommended timeline, just drop us a Whatsapp to check on our availability for your date before checking out. If we still have any availability, we would definitely love to flower for you.

— caring for your eden.

  • All fresh flower wrapped bouquets will come with a water bag with flower food water as the water source. They will also come with a floral care instruction card.

After receiving your eden (and snapping a few pretty pictures), here’s how to care for your new bloom babies:

    — Keep in aircon only as much as possible. If you do not have access to aircon, a well ventilated cooling area with a light fan breeze will work as well. Keep the flowers away from direct sunlight.

    — Do not tilt your bouquet beyond 45 degrees as the water from the water bag will leak. Find a nice stable spot to place your bouquet upright instead.

    — After 2 days, it is recommended to unwrap your bouquet to pop them in a vase of fresh water. Cut the stem ends at 45 deg, remove any rotting or soft mushy bits on the stems and plop them in a vase of room temperature clean water.

    — Every day after or every alternate day, trim the stems a little at 45 deg and change out the water in the vase. Be sure to keep any foliage above the waterline and remove mushy bits whenever you do so.

Enjoy your blooms as they flaunt their fleeting beauty for you! Stop and smell the roses.

  • Dried and preserved flowers last longer away from direct sunlight, humidity and strong winds.

Handle them with care as they are more brittle to touch. Moisture is your worst enemy (begone mould!!).

All dried eden / frames will come with a floral care instruction card.

After receiving your eden (and snapping a few pretty pictures), here’s how to care for your new bloom babies:

    — Keep in a well ventilated and cool area. A light fan breeze will work but an area next to the window where strong gusty winds may come in, is not recommended.

    — Keep the flowers away from direct sunlight, stale air and humid spots or rooms.

    — Find a nice spot to place your arrangement upright, or hang your frame from, where it won’t get knocked over / hit.

    — You may choose to spritz the florals with a thin coat of hair spray to better retain the flowers longevity and integrity.

Enjoy your blooms as they flaunt their fleeting beauty for you!
