Refining the Bud:
Questions as You Shape Your Floral Story

Before You Finalise Your Floral Story...

Maybe you’re sitting with a little sticker shock — or wondering how things added up when you had a simple setup in mind.

We get it.
This is the moment to pause, reflect, and gently shape the blooms that matter most.

You’ve received a proposal that reflects your vision and floral dreams — now we’re here to help you sift through what to keep, what to adjust, and where to simplify without losing the essence.

This page is for those quiet what-now moments:
✨ When you’re trying to decide if this is worth the investment.
✨ When you love what you see but aren’t sure how to prioritise.
✨ When you need more clarity before you confidently say “yes, let’s bloom.”

Let’s walk through this together — with care, clarity, and no pressure.

A gentle guide to the questions that arise as your floral story takes shape.
You’ve seen your proposal. You’re holding space for the possibilities. Now’s the time to reflect, refine, and decide which blooms feel most like you.

“I love it… but it’s more than I expected.”

L & YL’s florals repurposed from solemnisation to luncheon indoors —

  • Absolutely. This first quote is a springboard — not a finish line. Let us know what you'd like to hold back on, and we’ll guide you toward the most impactful floral gestures that still feel like you.

  • Yes, and you're not alone. What feels like a “simple setup” can still require thoughtful mechanics, floral quality, and intentional styling to achieve that effortless beauty.

When we create your quote, we often base it on what we believe will work best in your space — visually, structurally, and emotionally — while staying true to the style you’ve shared with us. Sometimes that means suggesting more than you initially imagined, because we want your day to feel cohesive and refined in real life and in photographs.

That said, this is a starting point. We’re here to help you pare things down if needed — without losing the heart of your floral story.

  • Please do. We’ll gently refine the scope while keeping your palette and intentions at heart.

“How do I know what’s worth keeping?”

  • For most couples, we suggest prioritising your bouquet, your ceremony focal point (like the arch or photo area), and table florals guests will linger at. We’ll also suggest repurposing blooms to stretch their presence beautifully across your day.

  • Yes — this is where artistry meets intentionality. We'll focus on the blooms that frame key moments, photographs, and emotions.

If budget is a stronger priority for you than storytelling, just let us know — we’ll help you simplify while still creating something cohesive. But if your priority is to tell a more layered, symbolic story through flowers, that often requires greater attention to detail and thoughtful design touches to truly bring it to life.

Either way, we’ll do our best to make your priorities happen in a way that still feels beautiful, honest, and aligned with your day.

“Can I make changes?”

  • Yes — your proposal is a starting point, and we’re happy to note any updated preferences you may have for colour palette, flower types, or overall styling direction.

Before your booking is confirmed, we won’t revise the full proposal deck just yet — but we will work with you using visual references to ensure we're aligned. It’s important to us that you feel confident and understood before moving forward.

Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive two complimentary rounds of revisions to your floral palette or theme.
The initial round of fine-tuning from your proposal will count as the first revision. You’ll then have one more included revision available should you wish to make further adjustments.

Additional revisions beyond that will be billed at SGD $60 per round, as outlined in our service agreement.

We’re here to guide you through this process with care — always making space for clarity, comfort, and creative refinement.

  • Yes — and it’s something we’ve intentionally introduced after nearly a year of research and experimenting with the most lifelike silk florals we could find.

Starting in 2025, we began offering fresh + silk hybrid designs not only to help reduce the carbon footprint of large-scale floral weddings, but also out of care for the health of our team and environment — from chemical exposure to floral foam microplastics we work around daily.

It’s a fun and meaningful challenge we’ve embraced: making your flowers as lifelike and expressive as possible, no matter the material.

We often use fresh blooms for personal flowers and guest tables, and silk for larger installations or outdoor elements where sustainability and longevity are key.
🌿 Pro tip: Some venues have restrictions on silk use — we’ll guide you if this applies to yours.

  • We understand that your plans may evolve — and we’re here to adapt with you. Minor tweaks are usually flexible. For larger changes, we’ll walk you through availability and any impact on your quote before anything is confirmed.

“What happens next?”

  • Once you're ready to move forward, the first step is to secure your wedding date with a booking deposit. This officially confirms your spot in our calendar.

After that, we’ll provide a refined floral proposal and styling guide that includes:

    • A confirmed floral palette

    • Custom sketches (if needed)

    • Adjusted logistics and mechanics tailored to your day’s flow and layout

This refined proposal is part of the next phase in our process — designed with intention, once your date is secured.

Because we take on a limited number of weddings per weekend, we recommend booking early to ensure your celebration receives the care and attention it deserves. If another couple enquires for your date while you're still considering, we'll always let you know out of courtesy — just so you can make your decision with peace of mind.

🌸 Please note: As floral market rates continue to fluctuate, we can’t guarantee the current quote will remain valid indefinitely. Since we work off projected costs based on current floral pricing, quotes may shift over time in response to supplier changes or seasonal availability.

Securing your booking helps lock in today’s pricing and gives us space to refine your design with care and clarity — without unexpected changes down the road.

We’re so honoured to shape this next part with you, and can’t wait to bring your vision into bloom.

  • No — you don’t need to finalise every stem or accent just yet. At this stage, we’re focusing on the direction and key floral elements to reserve the team and structure your day.

But it’s important to know: we’re a small, intentional team, and each wedding receives our full attention. That means once your booking is confirmed, we shape our weekend schedule around the scale of your event — adjusting our intake to protect the time and care your day deserves.

If you book early, we’re able to reserve the resources needed for any large-scale features. But once we’ve taken on other weddings that weekend, we may not be able to accommodate major additions — even if we really want to make it happen for you.

Securing your date early allows us to honour your vision fully — with the space, time, and team it needs to bloom beautifully.

  • We’ll guide you, but most details are finalised 6–8 weeks before your wedding day. Some elements (like silk rentals or specialty blooms) may need to be confirmed earlier.

“What about my wedding day?”

  • Our setup timeline depends on your venue and event flow. Typically:

    • Morning events: setup begins early morning.

    • Solemnisations + receptions: florals are styled before guests arrive.

    • Multi-location events: we coordinate timing and floral transitions with your planner or venue team.

We usually require a 2-hour window for seamless execution.

  • Personal flowers are typically delivered the evening before your wedding, so they’re ready and within reach for your morning preparations. This includes your bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, corsages, and any other hand-held florals.

We’ll coordinate a delivery time with you or your planner to ensure everything arrives in perfect condition — and with time to breathe.

    • Bridal bouquet will arrive in a vase. If it's made of fresh blooms, the water will contain flower food to keep it hydrated. Simply place it in a cool, air-conditioned room away from direct sun or strong drafts.

    • Fresh boutonnieres and corsages should not be stored in a food fridge — ripening produce can release ethylene gas, which may harm delicate flowers. Instead, place them in an air-conditioned space.

    • Faux silk florals should also be kept in aircon and stored carefully to avoid flattening or squishing of petals.

🌿 You’ll receive a floral care pamphlet along with your personal flowers — so everything you need to know will be right there when they arrive.

Still unsure? That’s okay.

  • Of course. You're not behind — you're simply in the refining phase. And we want you to feel truly aligned before saying yes.

That said, because we take on a limited number of weddings per weekend to ensure quality and consistency, we do recommend confirming your booking early. It allows us to scale our team with intention and give your day the attention it deserves — without the risk of scheduling conflicts later on.

If another couple enquires about your date while you're still considering, we’ll always let you know out of courtesy.

🌿 Please also note: If our floral rates or supplier costs are revised in the meantime, we may not be able to honour the original quote. Securing your date early helps protect your vision — and your budget — while giving us the space to refine everything with care.

We're always here if you’d like to talk things through, gently adjust, or revisit your proposal. Whatever you need to move forward with clarity and confidence.
