Whether you’ve been following The Bloomish Eden for awhile / completely new, hello & welcome to the space where I will share more on behind-the-scenes of The Bloomish Eden, or just more of the projects we get to work on.

So to start things off proper, hello again, I’m Michelle, the founder and lead florist of The Bloomish Eden.

Recently, I did some polling on IG to see what topics you’ll be interested in & the most common theme was to know my background. And because that’s also very apt for an introduction, I’ll be covering a little on my personal & professional background. Split them into two parts so that it’ll not be too wordy for a quick read!

5 F A C T S A B O U T M E -

Here’s 5 random facts about me totally not related to flowers / work :

  1. I love having my own quiet time & need that time away from people and social media to recharge my batteries (hello fellow introverts)! But I do love socialising in small groups because quality time is one of my top love language. And according to the 16 types of personality, I’m an INFJ.

  2. I love the calm from the sea and watching sunrises and sunsets. There’s just something so beautiful about the impermanence of it all. No two sunrises / sunsets are the same and you just have to leave it up to nature to decide how splendid of a show they want to put on that day.

  3. I love reading. Drop me your fav book recommendations!

  4. If you’ve been around IG, you’d have probably seen a cute furball called Yoshi pop up here and there either sniffing my flowers / being forced to take photos with them in exchange for treats heheh. I am kinda obsessed and even made a sticker pack hahahah. Yoshi now has a brother, Koji, but…first child still my fav (shhh!)

  5. I love food and damn typical Singaporean, but jap food is the best imo. I think I love food that’s thoughtfully put together and it’s amazing how much respect they have for the ingredients they use.

There, now you know a little more about my quirks! I think that in some ways, I do have certain qualities from these personal parts of my life that translates into the floral style of mine. Not going to lie, at the start I didn’t really know what’s the special elements of my style that’s prominent from others. But I do see it abit clearer now. For example, even when the theme of the flowers requires more texture (e.g., wildflower), I still try to achieve a balance of sorts where it can be elegant and calming to look at. Not too over the top and chaotic is how I like my flowers to be. And just like how every floral ingredient is special, I don’t believe in ‘manhandling’ them and forcing them into a certain part of the arrangement. They are beautiful as they are and should be given the ideal spot that will let them shine, just as they are.

Well, I hope that makes sense for now. Till the next time, where I will talk more about the floral side of things.
Be kind out there, x
